About Naroth Inc.

A family enterprise, since 1982.

Three generations

What began in Chennai in 1982 as a single fabric-export business is now a group of companies across India and Sri Lanka, still run by the family that started it.

The family

Started by one, carried by three generations.

  1. First

    Jayapalan Naroth

Founded the company in Chennai in 1982 as Sree Aravind Enterprises, exporting fabric. The standards he set are the ones the group still works to.

  2. Second

    The next generation

Ashwath's uncle and mother then took the business over and carried it forward.

  3. Third

    Today

The third generation now continues the work, across textiles, hospitality, design, architecture and commodities.

Ashwath Naroth

Third generation

Grandson of the founder, Ashwath co-founded VOLO Designs, the group's design studio, with Alessio Comalli, and represents Philip Weeraratne Associates, the Sri Lankan architecture practice, in South India.

How we work

One set of standards.

Own the hard parts

From yarn to finished garment, from origin to export, from concept to shelf: the businesses are built to control the parts of the process that matter most.

Genuine attention

Across every vertical, the same standard: genuine attention, not the appearance of it.

One network

India and Sri Lanka aren't separate markets the group happens to work in. They are one working network.

The group

Five verticals today.
